Silhouette and Project Life

I have this love hate relationship with my Silhouette SD.  I first discovered it from HOF 3 which is no longer active.  It was the collaboration of Heidi, Rhonna and Janet using digital kits and making hybrid projects.  Well, I got a hold of it and just love all the different designs on it.  I wanted to use it a lot more but was having problems with it cutting nice and crisp images. It was especially difficult with intricate and more detailed images.  I still used it occasionally then I decided to try something else.  Instead of using bazzill paper I used American Crafts.  It made a difference!  But...some cuts were still not cutting to its perfection.  So I read that it could be the blade so I just bought a new blade and their new mats.  We'll see if that makes a huge difference.
I am taking part of Project Life from Becky Higgins.  I started it last year but it didn't pan out after 3 months.  So...I'm taking a different approach in that I'm staying organized, not caring if the pictures are not perfect, edit it if I have time, using a calendar/planner to document and putting important pictures that tell the story during that month. No stress in doing a daily thing.  It's whatever and however you want.  Just DOCUMENT and tell YOUR STORY.
So I am using my Silhouette to add some elements into my Project Life.  I'm loving all the inspirations out there!!  I love printing the images on white card stock.  The great thing is that I can leave it plain white or I can make it any color I want with a touch of Glimmer.  Here are some examples of what I did using my images from the silhouette.

I then Glimmer misted the Chevron image using Tattered Angels chalkboard mist in

Doesn't that look awesome?!

I love this camera image that was designed by Amy Tan with American Crafts on the Silhouette site.

Here's my album I decided to use from American Crafts.  It's the black and white damask 3 ring 12x12 binder.  I just love this design.  The only thing is that it doesn't have a spine label.  So I decided to use Teresa Collins Zach bookplates because these are just my all time fave and is a staple in my stash.  I used hot glue so it would stick better.

Here's my first page of my PL 2012 album.  Photos taken by Momentary Bliss Photography.  Love her!  So talented.  I hope to keep it up.  Loving it!  So come on and join the Project Life movement!

Moving on to another exciting news are the new products that will debut for this coming CHA winter in Anaheim.  Lisa and I will be going again this year!  So excited!  We just have such a great time meeting all the designers, products, doing all the make n takes and just having some BFF time!  The sneak peeks are showing up.  Check out Scrapbook Update for the latest sneaks.  I'm off to work on my Project Life album.

Happy Scrappin'!

i love it! :) we totally love the same stuff. I have to tell you I had been having a hard time cutting cardstock on my silhouette and kept getting thinner cardstock. I finally changed the blade and slowed down the speed and it works like a charm now. cutting paper trey ink cardstock, and that is thick like stampin up. like buttah!

Thanks Joscelyne! That's good to know. I can't wait to get my new blade which is the one they use for Cameo but they said it's compatible for both. I also bought the new mats for it. The old ones are weak. How slow of a speed did you do? Mine is set at 3. I gotta try paper trey ink card stock. Thanks for the tip. Also, thanks for stopping by.

Love it! I finished up my cover page and week one this past weekend. Working on week two now, I'm using my cameo to cut out some goodies too! Last years album is on the shelf. I hear it saying but you didn't finish me!! LOL

Have fun at CHA and can't wait to see what you created for it :)
