Hybrid Hawaii mini file travel album

This year we took our vacation in paradise...Hawaii.   We just love the Aloha spirit that Hawaii has to give.  Not to mention we're always mistaken as LOCALS.  We definitely fit right in. We also have family there we love to visit!I love creating travel minis to take with me along with my trusty Fujifilm PIVI instax printer which I LOVE!  I can print while I travel and scrapbook it into my mini file.  I created this mini file as like a journal for the week we're there.  I am so in love and ADDICTED to Heidi's concept of Memory Files.  I mean REALLY...How clever!  You can pack so much into one project and at the same time make it interactive.  I'm all about interactive elements.  To create my Hawaii mini file I printed the freebie printable calendar Heidi provided a few weeks ago as my front cover.  I added several digital elements such as the banner delights, airplane, "awesome", label, arrow and camera.  As well as Heidi's "october" word cut on my Cameo.  On this calendar you can write in what you did during your vacation that way it'll jog your memory as to what happened on that particular day.  I matted it on digital papers that I printed from Heidi's No Limits digi shop then dressed the bottom edge with Heidi Swapp's Destinations trimmings.   I love how you can heat it up and watch it crinkle... pretty awesome!  When you open up it up there's room for pictures and journaling.  I love, love Heidi's Color Magic tags!  They're so much fun.

I cut up Heidi's banner delights  and "crazy good" word on white cardstock.  My fave thing to do because you can customize the colors by using Color Shine.  The colors are just gorgeous!  I used Primrose and Mustard.  Just look at how they shine!  I also sprayed it on Pink Paislee's Artisan trimmings to add more texture.  I layered and sewed Vintage Chic tags and Pink Paislee's Artisan trimmings together.  To add more interactive elements I grabbed one of my favorite chevron paper bags and folded it in half adhered and place a Heidi's Neon washi tape to hold the fold in place.  On top of the bag I layered Vintage Chic Notes along with digi instaframes by sewing it together at the top. These hold more photos and placed our boarding pass tickets in the bag.  You can add more memorabilia inside as well.  The airplane and camera wood veneers are from Studio Calico and sprayed with Color Shine. So love this!

On the back of the bag I adhered two of my instax photos embellished with Vintage sentiments, instaframe labels and Vintage Chic letters.  I love, love instaframes and to have mini instaframes?  Hellooo...addicting!  I collect sand from beaches where we visit and keep them in small apothecary jars to display but I had this thought of placing in my memory file without bulk.  So I used the packaging from the mini instaframe as a bag to put sand from the beach where we renewed our vows.  I then placed it in the mini instaframe over the picture of Waimanalo Beach.  Embellished it with sentiment stickers, mini tags and used a pop dot to adhere the digi camera from the No Limits stickers.  Now I will always have a little bit of Hawaii.

One of my favorites from Heidi's line is her "secret weapon" ... the Fotosleeve mini.  Now these I will definitely hoard!  I cut the days of the weeks that we were there from Heidi's digi Days word with my Cameo and sprayed them with Black Velvet Color Shine.  I added these words on top of the inserts along with  photos/journaling to remember what we did on those days. I used mini instaframes and adhered on top of the page protectors.

This year was our 15 year anniversary and wanted to celebrate it by renewing our vows on the beach and Waimanalo Beach was just breathtaking!!   I placed a photo that captured that moment on pop dots over the page protector  and added the Black and White buzz words above the photo.  On the very last page I gathered some graph paper and stapled them together to be used for journaling.  I then used my Cameo to cut the digi Photo caption add it on top using an 1 inch strip of digi No Limits Paper to adhere to the paper stack so that it opens up.  I stamped the word  "journal" with Heidi's vintage alpha stamps.

This is one of the Memory Files project from this weeks Memory File Live class.  My mini file folder will live on the inside cover then the rest of the album will be filled with greater detail of photos and journaling from our Hawaii trip.  I hope this Mini Memory Travel file album will inspire you to create your own.

My lil' devil

Halloween is such a fun way to use your imagination.  I love seeing all the different costumes and decorations.  So how can you not create a fun, spooky Halloween mini book to go along with the festivities?  I have so much fun making Halloween mini albums that I made one to document a past Halloween of my daughter in elementary school (now 8th grade) and how I miss the parades, Halloween carnival and field trips to the pumpkin patch.  I used Heidi Swapp's Vintage chic papers, Pink Paislee Phantom paper collection and stamps.  I also distressed the pages with Rangers Black Soot Distress ink.  With the help of my Silhouette I used Heidi's digi Halloween words & banner delights  to cut on white cardstock and misted with Heidi's Color Shine.  I just love how I could customize the colors.  So fabulous!!  The spider web, fence, chandelier and haunted house was also created from my silhouette.  I also added some stickles to the spider web. the word "spooky" and the chandelier to give it some sparkle.
As you can see I welded the word "EEK" onto the Ornate frame from the silhouette store and also created a rectangle "BEWARE" frame.  The "BEWARE" frame was sprayed with HS COLOR SHINE in Sweet Cherry and black velvet.  I changed the Heidi Swapp Halloween words into colors to match the rest of the album in photoshop, printed and fussy cut them to give it a different look.  I added these words for my journalling.  What is so great about digi elements is that it has so much versatility.  The "cute lil devil"  photo frame  that was printed on transparency.  Pink Paislee has  digital PHANTOM Clear Frames that you can print onto clear transparencies.  Awesome, right?

Hope you had a SPOOKY good time!
