Sharing the love on this Valentines Day

Since Valentines is a celebration of "Love"  I thought this would be perfect for my Valentine Hybrid mini album to showcase my love for my family.  Last year we celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary in June but decided to do our vow renewal in Hawaii on the beach which was an intimate traditional Hawaiian ceremony.
For the album I mainly used Heidi's Happy Valentine digital Collection and my Silhouette Cameo.  Check out this tutorial from Heidi on how to use digital elements to cut in the Silhouette Cameo.  I'm a huge fan of the Silhouette since 2010.  This is the BEST die cut machine you will invest in.  Ok, I'm warning you.  I kinda got carried away.  I just wanted to keep creating!  Check out Heidi Swapp's blog too where there are more photos and a sketch tutorial.

I used the Mini File Folder and cut it in half then ran it through my Cameo and cut a heart from the Happy Valentines Cutting file "happy valentines heart"  in the middle of the folder.  I inked the edges with paint and embellished with Happy Valentine Glittered ElementsHappy Valentines 4x6 cards,  Happy Valentines Cutting Files in "arrows"Sentiment StickersSugar Chic Banner DelightsMini File Tab StickersPink Paislee Artisan Collection resistable Arrows  misted with Color Shine in Mint Green and Chalkboard banner from the Silhouette store.  Here's a shot I took of all the arrow cut files misted with Color Shine.  Aren't they gorgeous?  My new fave color is Georgia Peach.  I especially love combining it with Primrose.  It gives it a great Ombre effect.  You can also customize the plain arrow by typing in any words or phrases you like before tracing.  Here I just typed in "art & dette".  Pretty cool, huh?  The font I used was BEBAS.

Here's an example that was sketched out using the Silhouette Sketch pen.  More details at Heidi Swapp's blog.

Ok, so I'm loving the printed Happy Valentine cards on vellum.  I also love words that are stitched too so I placed the vellum over the printed Heidi word "love" pierced it then hand stitched it, folded and adhered to show through  from the front.  Adhered a heart arrow stick right next to it.

Throughout this book I printed all of the Happy Valentines Papers.  For this page, I cut the "valentine" and the "arrow" cutting file and just left the negative to show through the next page.  I just love this photo of us and the backdrop is just BREATHTAKING! Wouldn't you say?

I just loved how our photographer Marina at Red Heart Photography captured my daughters personality.  Last year was special too because she turned 13.  An official Teenager!  Yikes!  We're so in trouble.  On this page  I used the 4x6 cards and scaled it down to 2x3 and used it as banners.  Sewed the hearts and let it dangle over the page.  The strip at the top is "Heartwords" paper from the Happy Valentine Papers and cut it using one of my favorite tools from Martha Stewart Fringe scissors.

To create this all you have to do is find the right font in this case I used Heidi's Happy Valentine words and BEBAS font in the silhouette and cut.  Easy peasy!

To create the pocket I printed and 8x10 paper and scored it at 3 inches from the left.  Then fold to create a flap.  I've always loved vellum.  Here's an envelope that was cut from the Silhouette to put more pix or notes.

Chalkboard is all the rage right now that's why I'm totally loving these chalkboard bubbles from the Silhouette store.  Aren't they cute?  There goes that "love" image that was sketched in the silhouette.

To create the pocket I just cut the "Pretty Valentine" digital paper along the chevron design.  These pockets hold more photos and more of the Valentine cards.

Here's more photos of the mini album that I bounded using the Cinch by We R Memory Keepers.
The great thing about these die cuts is that you can mist on them using Color Shine.  This one is Georgia peach.  Gorgeous color!

the "love" is printed from the Happy Valentines Glitter element where I used two different colors of the same word to create like a shadow effect then fussy cut it.

I hope I've inspired you to dive into the world of Hybrid Scrapbooking where the possibilities of making pretty stuff are endless.  Happy Valentine's Day!!

Last minute Valentine inspirations

Ok people...Valentine is coming up so for those needing some ideas for cards to your friends or that special someone.  Here are some cards that I just added just a little bit more .  Heidi provided some lovely new Happy Valentine Printable Cards that just makes it easy to just download and print.  That's it.  Pretty Simple.  You can keep it as is or you can dress it up a little more to add your creative touch.  Frame it with a beautiful frame as a decor for your home.

The first one I created for my BFF, Lisa.   We've been friends since High School and through thick and through thin we've stayed best friends.  So, I thought I'd make this little mini "album" card for her to show how much she means to me.

Here I adhered two printable together back to back except for the top side leaving a pocket for one the Happy Valentine 4x6 card "You're my favorite" card.  I stapled one of the Happy Valentines Glitter Elements that was cut in my Silhouette Cameo.  Check out Heidi Swapp's tutorial on how to print and cut using her digital files.

The next card is for my sis in law and my brother who just had her fourth kid who is my first nephew!  woohoo!  We are so excited for a new baby into our family that I wanted to create a Congratulations card for them using a couple photos of some maternity photos I took of her.  I also included some Handwritten Hearts from her Happy Valentines Cutting Files that was cut from white cardstock with the Cameo.  I then sprayed it with  Color Shine in Tinsel.

Well...I hope that this will get you to create some beautiful Valentine cards for your loved ones.  Happy Valentines Day!

Love is in the air....

Heidi Swapp has some adorable Digital Valentines Collections called Happy Valentines that you can create for your loved ones and friends.  I just love all the collections and the endless possibilities when combined with Heidi's other products and the Silhouette Cameo.  My mind just goes bonkers when I think of all the hybrid projects you can create.  Check out Heidi Swapp's blog for more details.  The great thing too is it's perfect if you're on a budget.  Here's a bunch of gifts I created using her Happy Valentine's Collections.

Digital cuts from the Cameo before misting with Color Shine.

Just look how gorgeous these colors are after misting with Color Shine in Mint Green.

I love stamping and distressing these cards then dressing it up with some Sentiment Stickers.

Loved creating this banner with canvas triangles and Happy Valentines cards.

Perfect for blending two Color Shine colors- Mint Green and Tropicana Teal onto a manila tag.  Then inked edges with paint and embellished with some Happy Valentine digital cuts.  Great for adding as gifts or into your mini books.

Hope you enjoyed all the hybrid gifts and hope that I've inspired you to go and make pretty stuff.
