Thank you Easter bunny.

I can't believe we're heading towards the end of March and it's Easter time.  Time sure does fly!  Well, for those who celebrates Easter and have thoughts to create a little treat for your kiddos... this one is for you.  Go onto Heidi Swapp's blog for more details.

My daughter is all grown up so we don't do egg hunts anymore but I figured a way to give a little something that celebrates Easter by creating a cute Easter basket with a treat to go along with it.  I used my Silhouette Cameo and Heidi Swapp's NEW Color Pop and Serendipity collections.
It's the 3D Easter Box in the Silhouette Store.  Here's what it looks like.

I then misted the main cut as well as the circles with Color Shine in Mustard and the other strips in Tinsel.

Then take one strip and weave it in and out through the slits.  Then the second strip you're going to want to feed it under the opposite way than the first.  Lastly, insert the strip just like the first one.  The last one gets tricky because it gets a little tight.  So you may need to make the slit a little longer using your craft knife.

It should look like this.

Then fold the tabs inward like so.

Next, place one of the circles inside then on the outside.

Take the strip that has some perforation and 2 holes and apply to the edge.  This will keep the basket sturdy.

Then take the last strip for the handle and attach the small brads at each end.

As you can see I created a banner using Heidi Swapp's Sugar Chic Banner Delights and Sugar Chic Bowties from her Digi Shop.
I first opened  a new file in Photoshop by clicking on FILE- NEW then change the size to 8x11.
I then opened my Banner delight banner file and the Bowtie into PS. Resized it. Then hit print.  Cut it out and adhere to a wooden stick that I had left over from her Sugar Chic Pennants that I had.

I sprayed the NEW Color Pop Banner Delight  and the Color Magic Letterbox Alphas with Tinsel.  Adhered it to the banner and the stick.

I hope I've inspired you to create a cute little Easter basket to give to your kids.  Happy Easter!

My Family is F A B U L O U S

We  do what we do for our family.  I love that in our craft we get to share and document our daily lives and those who we share it with.  My family is everything to me.  Being Filipino and growing up in such a big traditional family, I've learned the value of being there for each other No Matter What.  I'm so blessed to be surrounded with such a large group of family.. on both sides.  In this Color Pop  Memory File I documented some of my family and the joy we have being together.  The New Color Pop Memory Files were just the perfect thing to use to create my layouts about my family.
On Heidi Swapp's blog my project is shared with more photos.

The New Color Pop, Clear Pop and Serendipity Collections are just to die for!  I can't wait until you start playing with these gems.  I started off with the New Color Pop Memory File in the coral mini file.  I sprayed it with Color Shine Gold Lame .  You're going to want to hoard these babies because once you spray it with the Gold Lame....YOU will GASP!!
It comes with Color already but then when you spray it with any Color Shine color you choose..Voila! It just transforms to an amazing art.

Here's what happens after you spray these with Gold Lame.  Gorgeous, right?!

I "distressed" the edges of the front cover with Gold Lame. Layered with some papers from Serendipity and No Limits Paper.  Also, layered with some cut outs from the Sugar Chic Paper Pad.  As you can see here there's some New collections such as Color Pop Window Frames and Clear Pop Tags that will just blow your mind.  These are just so much fun!

Here's a quick look on the mini instaframe pull out.  Check on my post on Heidi's blog for more details.

Using digital brushes you can create your own "word" tag just like what I did below.  I used the digital words/phrases from  Colorful Instaframes  in photoshop.  Go to FILE, OPEN ,  locate your Colorful Instaframe click OPEN then go to FILE click onto new layer.

Click onto the move tool in the left side bar on the top.  Hold your mouse over "having a great time" click and hold.  While clicking onto the phrase drag it over to the new blank layer.  You can learn more on how to do this basic digital photoshop go over to Jessica Sprague where she teaches you on how to digital scrapbook for beginners.  I highly recommend to learn this basic lesson because it will change your creativity.

I love that you can create as many digital elements as you want and customize the color.  Here's one where I changed the color, printed it and fussy cut the arrows using the outlined arrow from the Destinations Stickers from Heidi Swapp's Digi Shop.
In photoshop you want to open the file, then go to EDIT, FILL choose a color but make sure the PRESERVE TRANSPARENCY is checked off.  Then hit ok.  You can now create different colors and drag them onto a different canvas and print.

To make this Glittery gold banner and the clear embossed "spectacular" word.  All you have to do is grab Silhouettes Double sided adhesive sheet, the Silhouette Cameo, Heidi Swapp's Digital Words : Adjectives from the Digi Store, gold glitter and clear embossing powder.

Open your Banner Delight Brushes from the digi shop and change the png file to a cutting file.  If you need a tutorial on how to do so just watch this video by Heidi Swapp.

You then place the sheet onto the cutting mat and cut.  Remove the first layer of the sheet then pour glitter making sure it covers the banner.  Shake off the excess and there you have it... a pretty gold banner.

As for the embossed word " spectacular",  follow the same steps as above, place on top of your card stock  but instead of glitter apply clear embossing powder and heat.   Then spray with Color Shine and it acts as a resist.  Wipe off using glass cleaner to show off the resist to make it pop.  I love this technique because it gives another interest to your project.

Below is after applying the embossing powder.

This is after the clear embossing powder was heated.

Here it is sprayed with Color Shine in Mint Green and Gold Lame.  Pretty awesome isn't it?

Here's just a few of my cousins.  Oh and by the way, don't mind my silly husband.

I know this was such a long post and I hope you will get out that die cut machine and create something fabulous!
