Don't take things for granted

Life is busy so we do take things for granted.   This past week has been very difficult for my family.  My parents were scheduled to leave to go to the Philippines tomorrow but my dad's doctor wanted him to get tested for a stress test first.  Well...that happened on Tuesday.  We were hoping that it wasn't severe.  Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.  He had news that he had to undergo bypass surgery.  Needless to say, we were overwhelmed and scared.  Especially my dad.  We couldn't help but cry.  All the what ifs ran through our heads.  We love each other so much that we couldn't bare to lose him.  He's doing ok today with some issues that hopefully resolves today.  Sleepless nights but had one day of rest to yesterday and reboot.  Sitting here today at the hospital seeing my dad smiling is nice.

Oh yes, I am so glad you are getting to see him smile. I hope you have a less -stressful week. Blessings to all of you and your family. my father had bypass about 20 years ago -- and he is doing great! Hang in there.

Thank Collette! Glad to here that your father is doing great! I tell my dad stories of people who had gone through the same thing and who are still going on strong. He sometimes gets discouraged because of the pain and the fact that he's just scared but were there everyday.
