Last minute Valentine inspirations

Ok people...Valentine is coming up so for those needing some ideas for cards to your friends or that special someone.  Here are some cards that I just added just a little bit more .  Heidi provided some lovely new Happy Valentine Printable Cards that just makes it easy to just download and print.  That's it.  Pretty Simple.  You can keep it as is or you can dress it up a little more to add your creative touch.  Frame it with a beautiful frame as a decor for your home.

The first one I created for my BFF, Lisa.   We've been friends since High School and through thick and through thin we've stayed best friends.  So, I thought I'd make this little mini "album" card for her to show how much she means to me.

Here I adhered two printable together back to back except for the top side leaving a pocket for one the Happy Valentine 4x6 card "You're my favorite" card.  I stapled one of the Happy Valentines Glitter Elements that was cut in my Silhouette Cameo.  Check out Heidi Swapp's tutorial on how to print and cut using her digital files.

The next card is for my sis in law and my brother who just had her fourth kid who is my first nephew!  woohoo!  We are so excited for a new baby into our family that I wanted to create a Congratulations card for them using a couple photos of some maternity photos I took of her.  I also included some Handwritten Hearts from her Happy Valentines Cutting Files that was cut from white cardstock with the Cameo.  I then sprayed it with  Color Shine in Tinsel.

Well...I hope that this will get you to create some beautiful Valentine cards for your loved ones.  Happy Valentines Day!

Love is in the air....

Heidi Swapp has some adorable Digital Valentines Collections called Happy Valentines that you can create for your loved ones and friends.  I just love all the collections and the endless possibilities when combined with Heidi's other products and the Silhouette Cameo.  My mind just goes bonkers when I think of all the hybrid projects you can create.  Check out Heidi Swapp's blog for more details.  The great thing too is it's perfect if you're on a budget.  Here's a bunch of gifts I created using her Happy Valentine's Collections.

Digital cuts from the Cameo before misting with Color Shine.

Just look how gorgeous these colors are after misting with Color Shine in Mint Green.

I love stamping and distressing these cards then dressing it up with some Sentiment Stickers.

Loved creating this banner with canvas triangles and Happy Valentines cards.

Perfect for blending two Color Shine colors- Mint Green and Tropicana Teal onto a manila tag.  Then inked edges with paint and embellished with some Happy Valentine digital cuts.  Great for adding as gifts or into your mini books.

Hope you enjoyed all the hybrid gifts and hope that I've inspired you to go and make pretty stuff.

Life is Sweet

Nothing like starting a New Year.  Fresh starts.  Re energize your mind, body and soul.  That's what I love about the New Year.  All the excitement on Instagram of everyones new starts and talk about documenting their everyday just makes me happy.  My goal is to document more of my everyday.  So I created an album that will help me organize my daily happenings.  I used Heidi Swapp's  Memory File chipboards in the mini file folder , cut it in half. Painted the cover with chipboard and adhered the inside with Heidi's Vintage Chic Beautiful Song paper.   More details on Heidi Swapp's blog.

I just love using Color Shine to customize these colors for my project.  I used Black Velvet to spray onto the Chipboard Alphas Resist.  I love, love these letters!  I also distressed ink the Color Magic Letterbox Alphas.  AWESOME!

Cuts using my Silhouette and misted with Color Shine.  So addicting I tell ya!  The best investment ever!

I printed these calendars from the silhouette because it was easier to size it to what I wanted which was 5x7 and dragged it all the way to the bottom.  This way when I printed it I could trim then fold to create a pocket like so to put the photos in.  Keep in mind to not glue one side so that you create an opening.  That way when I'm ready to scrap I have the photos I want to use.
I decorated the calendar in photoshop using different digi elements from Heidi Swapp's Digi shop.

I just love these Vintage Chic Notes.  You can add photos or journal.  I decorated mine ahead so that I have some ready when I need them.

More photos on Heidi Swapp's blog. Thanks for looking and I hope I've inspired you to start documenting your everyday.

DIY Photo Coasters

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!  I'm so excited to see what brings in the new year.  What's fun is all the posts on PROJECT LIFE and Sneaks for CHA Winter.  So exciting!! I'm inspired already.  How about you?  This year I decided I wanted to create a special gift for my parents.. photo coasters.  I've created these long ago but totally forgot about them.  All the supplies you need are tiles & felt pads from your local hardware store, foam or paintbrush, Claudine Hellmuth's Studio multi medium in matte and 4x4 photos.

Print your favorite photos into 4x4s.  Trim to fit over the tiles.

Apply a coat of the multi medium over the tile.

Place the photo on top to adhere to the tile.

Apply a coat or two to layer over the photo.  Let dry.  What's great about this medium is that it acts as a sealer too.

Once dried you then add the self adhesive felt pads to the back of the tiles to give it some cushion.

Voila!  Easy peasy.  By the way, my mom loved them.  As well as my Aunts. I think I'll make some for myself too.

Jingle All the Way

It's the last few days until Christmas.  It can be difficult to find that special gift for that person.  Well...I'm here to show you that you can create a special handmade gift that they'll sure to love.  I used this week's freebie from Heidi Swapp  "Jingle All the Way" to create this shadowbox frame made from 7 Gyspies.  Have you ever seen Heidi Swapp and all those gorgeous flowers she adorns her outfits with?  I included a very festive red flower from one of those very flowers that Heidi makes.  To the right of the flower I added bells that I attached together with twine and secured it with washi tape.

Right next to the bells is a pin.  Who doesn't love shrinky sinks?  These are so fun to create with.  All you have to do is print the freebie onto the shrinky dink sheet, heat in the toaster, wait to cool off then add one of those pins to the back and there you have it a wearable pin!

I have a love for mini albums no doubt about it.  So it was natural for me to make a mini that was cut out from a VINTAGE CHIC MEMORY FILE

On the inside of the mini album I created an openable from Heidi Swapp's Digi shop SUGAR CHIC NOTE CARDS.  There's different ways to change colors on a png file but here's how I changed this "Remember This" digi element.  In Photoshop,  go to File then click on Fill making sure that the "Preserve Transparency" is checked off.  Click on color and the color box should pop up.  Click on any color to your liking and there you have it.  A customized digi openable to add to your project.

You can see more of the mini book on Heidi Swapp's blog.  I hope that you enjoyed this freebie in creating this handmade gift and that I've inspired you to create one.  Happy Holidays to you and your families.  Now grab all the freebies and add a little touch of Heidi in all your gifts.
