IT'S OFFICIAL....

EEEEKKKK!  As you know I've been a long time Heidi Swapp fan since ummm....FOREVER!  I love her innovative products, her creative process, what she teaches and the eye candy creativity that she produces is AMAZING!!  Such an inspirational woman.  I've been creating some projects as a friend for awhile now and Heidi Swapp just officially announced mwuah as her 'Hybrid Specialist'!  As you know she opened her Digi shop a couple weeks ago and asked me to join her in creating hybrid projects using her digi products along with physical products.  Her digi products are 25% off until TODAY the 14th!  So Hurry!  I can't wait to INSPIRE you and encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and dive into the digital world to create a new world of HYBRID creativity.   It's possibilities are endless..I PROMISE!  Here's a layout I did using her digi products and some physical products too.  We all know the craze of Washi tape!  Most of it is not cheap..well here I created my own version of 'washi tape' using Heidi Swapp's No Limits digi paper and tissue paper ( the kind we use for wrapping).  I first taped the tissue paper using washi tape to secure it onto card stock because it's easy to remove it.  Then run it through your printer.  Customized washi tape created!  Just cut strips and run it through a sticker. Voila! And.... you have a whole sheet to work with!  Yay!

I went on photoshop and used Heidi's instaframe added my photo and 'summer' digital word then printed it.  I also took the pink instaframe brought it to my Silhouette and cut it from there. Love that you could take digital elements into the silhouette.  AWESOME!!!  The pink shades 'this makes me smile', explore and getaway are all digi.  I cut the getaway file into my silhouette on white card stock then glimmer misted it.  I love that you can customize the color using mists! Oh and I printed the paper from her No Limits paper onto card stock.  The colors look so bold!   Love it!

To add more photos I printed the 'OPENABLE' from her digi shop and stapled my instagram photos then placed it behind the summer instaframe photo.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope this will inspire you to create hybrid projects.

Happy scrappin',

Maridette

Let's do it the digi way

The Heidi Swapp digi way....Digi shop is NOW OPEN!  Woohoo!  How awesome is that?  It's so cool that we can have Heidi Swapp supplies forever!  That's what's great about digi.  I know there's many of you crafters who haven't dove into the digi world.   I too was one of that group that said oh no I couldn't do it because I love traditional scrapbooking with all those physical products.  Oh...don't get me wrong, I LOOVE products but the great thing is that you can use both digi and traditional scrapbooking otherwise known as Hybrid scrapbooking.  This will change your creative world!  I made myself learn how to use digi products by watching YOU TUBE tutorials.  Gotta love the internet.  I dove into this new venture due to HOUSE OF 3 which is no longer around but it was a collaboration of digi/hybrid products with Heidi Swapp, Rhonna Farrer and Janet Hopkins.  Three talented and creative ladies!  As soon as I learned it, the possibilities were endless.  Heidi just opened her Digi Shop on her website late last week.  Here's what I created using Sugar Chic collections.  This layout is all digi but I can't wait to show you my creations using her digi supplies to create some hybrid projects.

I hope you will give digi scrapbooking a try.

What to do with your vacation photos.

Now that you have stacks of photos from vacation or staycations.  What do you do with them?  Well.. I created a Memory box out of a card board box I've had in my stash and painted it and covered with paper. I created this back in April or May this year but it was never posted.   I used lots of Heidi Swapp No Limits line and other Heidi Swapp goodies along with my favorite die cutting machine - the Silhouette.
For the front cover I used a photo mat you can buy at any craft store to mount over a memory file folder I had cut in half.

When you open up the box you'll see at the top the other half of the memory file I used for the cover as a
pocket to house tix stubs and other memorabilia.

I also used my silhouette to die cut a cd holder to put a a CD that has all the photos from our trip.
I placed a polaroid snapshot in front of the CD sleeve with a faux washi tape that I used from Heidi's packaging.  I love finding out creative ways to use packages so nothing goes to waste.   You'll notice a transparent Hibiscus.  Some of you may remember it's from my old stash of vintage Heidi Swapp products.

In the box you can place more memorabilia.  Here I gathered some sand from the  different beaches we went to, added a map, some menus from the many different local restaurants we went to and coffee sleeves.

Inside is a mini Memory file folder that fits inside the Memory box.  I used a postcard to adorn the front cover and the palm tree from my silhouette and misted it.

"relax" cut out in which I stamped over it.  I also fussy cut Heidi's 'explore' flag.

Below I used a page protector and the edges is cut out from the ends of one of the No Limits Memory file folder.  Again, I misted the silhouette cut out in blue.  I had brought my trusty and favorite Fujifilm Pivi printer along with me and placed the photos inside the page protectors.

This is the mini file folder opened up.  To the right is a mini book. That is attached to the right side of the file folder.

The Hawaiian Islands cut out from my Silhouette.

The first page is a page protector that opens up.

Love Heidi Swapp's Foto stacks which sold out super quick last CHA Winter show.

ALOHA!   Hope you enjoyed my Hawaii Memory file box and album.

Santa Monica and Venice

I forgot to share these.   In celebration of Super hero summer blockbusters here are some photos I edited using a fun iPhone app.  Below is my silly hubby at Magic Mountain and his Batman cape.

We went to this beautiful outdoor mall called Americana.  We had a nice brunch and walked around.  The weather was perfect.  Bought the girls some sunglasses and so now they're stylin' with their cool sunglasses.

This is our lovely hotel in Santa Monica which is across from the Santa Monica beach.  Loved this hotel.  So beautiful.  The girls loved it and said that this was the coolest hotel ever!  Oh girls.  haha!

The view from our balcony which is the mall.  This place has a huge outdoor mall.

This is the store Amy Tan promotes.  Cute stationary boutique.

Left a note for my niece who wished she was with us.
She loved our sand message.

My fave.. Affogato.  Gelato and espresso.  Yummm.

Before heading home we stopped over Urth Cafe.  It's a pretty popular spot for their lattes which were ok.  I think all the hype is that stars come by and hang out.

Until next time.  We always have a great time in SoCal.
